Mall gets makeover, additions

Winnipeggers will soon have more stores to shop in.

Polo Park Shopping Centre (1485 Portage Ave.) is undergoing a $49-million redevelopment, according to a release on the mall’s website (polopark.ca).

The mall’s new retail space will take up 114,000 square feet, and 65,000 square feet will house new retailers.

Well-known retailer H&M, slated to open this fall, will occupy 25,000 square feet, and the remaining area will be used for existing retail clients.

There will be 370 feet of new skylights, as well as new seating areas and washrooms.

The former Zellers entrance will be renovated to become a new mall entrance from the second-level parking lot.

The release also states that Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie will be opening their stores later in the year.
