Get paid to play the races! Really!

This week and next week, I’m hosting workshops at Assiniboia Downs in which the Downs will give $20 to each signed-up participant to play a few races at interesting U.S. tracks, with the intention of showing them how to make money playing the races. If you’re serious-minded about finding out about this, you can call the Downs at 204-885-3330 ext. 0 to reserve a spot and receive $20.

The sessions are Thurs., Aug. 15 at 7 p.m. and Thurs., Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. at the Downs with, obviously, limited workshop size. So, if you’re interested you’d better phone as soon as you can.

The way it works is this: You get $20 and, using solid horseplaying techniques we will discuss as a group, you will make bets on designated races. When you double your $20, you return the initial $20 stake and continue to play with the rest of the money. If you don’t double your money, you keep whatever you have left (which could be $39.90!). Anyway, it doesn’t cost you a cent to find out whether serious horseplaying is possibly your "thing" and you’ll have fun doing it.  Complementary refreshments and munchies will be served, too.

I know, sounds like it’s too good to be true. But I had a couple of these sessions a couple summers ago and they were so successful, I thought it would interesting to do them again. Better act quickly, though. Hope to see you!
Speaking of which, as a regular reader you should know by now that I teach betting "secrets" at a stage just inside the main entrance to the Downs 30 minutes before races begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. So that’s another place to become familiar with successful race-playing. And let me tell you, because of computerized distillation of horses’ performances in the program, if you know where to look you’ll instantly get a handle on the best horses in each race.

The other day, a couple who had never been to the races before bought me a beer after winning $258 in a race by using a technique I had shown them at my "secrets" stage. The ticket cost them $4.80. There are many such stories. And, if nothing else, isn’t it worth 10 or 15 minutes of your time to give yourself a chance to leave with more money than you came with?

There are professionals, of course, who make money playing the races and keep records on their plays. But, to be really successful, you must have an attribute that the vast majority of us don’t have. I call it the "P" word. Do you know what that is? I’ll let you think on that for a week (or until I see you at one of my workshops or at one of my "secrets" presentations before live racing).

What can that be? And do you have it?
