CancerCare fundraiser a success

The first annual Tammi Kroeker: Run, Walk or Ride on Oct. 14 was a huge success, according to organizer Brent Dyck.

The weather co-operated and about 40 people participated in the walk, run or ride event. About 80 individuals attended a subsequent lunch at Elie Community Club.

More than $1,800 was raised for CancerCare Manitoba. Response to the event was encouraging and Dyck hopes it will continue to grow in future years.

"This was a great way for friends to take time to remember a dear friend, while bringing awareness and raising funds for a worthwhile cause," he said.
