Residents in three areas within the RM of Cartier will soon be able to connect to a low-pressure sewer system.
Cartier council passed a resolution on Sept. 9 to borrow the money needed to construct a low-pressure system in Elie North, Fort Rouge and Springstein. After the system is in place, it will be up to each homeowner to have their home’s plumbing connected to the municipal line.
Cartier CAO Anne Burns said constructing a low-pressure sewer system is an ongoing project for the municipality, with other residential areas yet to be covered.
Work on the system’s extension will begin later this year.
