The City of Winnipeg is providing several leisure options for local residents.
The Spring/Summer 2014 Leisure Guide was released on March 8 for Winnipeggers to peruse and register for their favourite activities. Digital copies of the guide are available at http://winnipeg.ca/cms/recreation/leisureguide.stm
Swimming lesson registration begins March 18 at 8 a.m. while registration for all other programs begins 24 hours later. Non-residents can begin registering for programs on March 25 at 8 a.m.
In-person registration is offered on March 18 and 19 at several locations across the city. At the Central Registration Centre (999 Sargent Ave.), South-East Registration Centre (1168 Dakota St.) and Pan Am Pool (25 Poseidon Bay) on March 18 and 19 times run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. North Centennial Recreation and Leisure Facility (90 Sinclair St.) and St. James Assiniboia Centennial Pool (644 Parkdale St.) offer registrations from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., while Elmwood Kildonans Pool (909 Concordia Ave.) offers registration from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Transcona Centennial Pool (1101 Wabasha St.) offers registration from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Queue numbers will be available beginning at 7 a.m. on these days.
On these days, in-person registrations will not be accepted at the City of Winnipeg office at 395 Main St., St. James Civic Centre, Fort Rouge Leisure Centre, Bonivital Pool, Margaret Grant Pool or Seven Oaks Pool.
However, after March 19, Bonivital (1215 Archibald St.), Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex (999 Sargent Ave.), Elmwood Kildonans Pool, Margaret Grant Pool (685 Dalhousie Dr.), North Centennial, Pan Am Pool, Seven Oaks Pool (444 Adsum Dr.), St. James Assiniboia Centennial Pool, St. James Civic Centre (2055 Ness Ave.), Transcona Centennial Pool, and the 395 Main St. office will accept in-person registrations.
The city also offers online registration through its website. Users must create an account and submit a credit card number for this option. Citizens can also register for programs by calling 311.
