Celebrating Francophone culture
Come out and enjoy an afternoon of traditional French Canadian songs with Denise Allard and Monique Couture at St. Eustache Hall on Jan. 27. at 2 p.m.

Domain theatre group performing
Tickets for Gilly Gan’s Island can be reserved by calling 204-736-2936 for performances in the Domain Hall on Sat., Jan. 26, Fri., Feb. 1 and Sat., Feb. 2 . Doors open at 6 p.m. and supper will be served at 6:30 p.m.  Tickets are $35.
A matinee is planned on Sun., Jan. 27 with a light snack at 1:30 p.m. and show starting at 2 p.m. Tickets for the matinee are $25 and $15 for students.

Informational evening planned
The United Church Meridian Pastoral Charge invites you to a slide presentation about the realities of Palestine and Israel at Sanford United Church on Feb. 3 from 7 to 9 p.m. For more information, phone Cathy Maxwell at 204-831-9709.

All are welcome to attend the Starbuck 4-H Family Bingo Night on Feb. 8 at the Starbuck Community Hall. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and bingo begins at 7 p.m. The canteen will be open and there will be a silent auction, door prizes and 50/50. Free babysitting is available. Admission is $2.50.

Speaking in public
The Headingley 4-H Club is holding a communications event, with all members giving a speech or visual presentation, on Feb. 10 at 2 p.m. in the Headingley United Church.  All are welcome to attend this event, and refreshments will be served afterwards.

Hockey featured at Carnival
The Phoenix Winter Carnival will be held February 11 to 17 at the Phoenix Community Centre in Headingley. The Headingley Phoenix  Recreation Association is hosting nine 5/6 teams and 12-7/8 teams.  The cost is $250 per 5/6 team and $300 per 7/8 team.  Teams are guaranteed four games and each team will get a player of the game award, goodie bags, and trophies.  Please contact  gdmunday@mymts.net regarding registrations.

Last call for Headingley’s United Church Players
The Headingley United Church Players are performing their final production, Wash Your Troubles Away on Feb. 15 to 18 and Feb. 21 to 23 at the Headingley Community Centre.
Tickets are on sale now and can be reserved by calling Darlene at 204-255-1123.

Enjoying the winter
The St. Francois Xavier Community Club invites everyone to attend their Winter Carnival on Feb. 17. There will be winter games, skating, and sleigh rides. Chili, pea soup, bannock and more are on the menu.

Hurry hard in La Salle
The La Salle Curling Club’s mized bonspiel runs from Feb. 21 to 24. The $180 entry fee includes a meal and Calcutta.
