Testing your luck
The Cartier Seniors Citizens’ Support Committee is planning a trip to South Beach Casino on May 27 with the bus leaving the Elie Vets Hall at 10 a.m. The $20 cost includes transportation and a buffet lunch. Travellers will play bingo on the trip. Call Lin at 204-353-2470 to register.

Baseball fans can sign up for a trip on May 29 to see a Winnipeg Goldeyes game for a $10 transportation fee. The bus will leave at 9:15 a.m. from the Vets Hall in Elie. Call Lin at 204-353-2470 to register.

A day of golf and good food
The Headingley Chamber is hosting their 10th annual golf tournament at BreezyBend Country Club. This event is open to all residents of Headingley. Every golf registration includes a barbecue lunch and a dinner of beef filet and salmon with wine. Everyone comes away with a prize.

The Southern Health Authority is holding a canning and preserving workshop taught by home economist Susan Penner at St. Paul’s Collegiate, Elie on May 30 from 6 to 8 p.m.
