Programs offered for Headingley seniors in April

The Arthritis Society of Manitoba is presenting a chronic pain management workshop at the Headingley Community Centre on April 22 from 10 a.m. to noon.


This workshop will teach you techniques to deal with joint and muscle pain, and how to manage stress and fatigue. Registration is free. Call the Macdonald-Headingley Recreation District office at 204-885-2444 to register.


Instructor Estelle Thornson will present a workshop entitled "Healthy Info for Seniors on the Net" at the Headingley Community Centre on April 24 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.


The registration fee is $20. To register, call the Recreation District office at 204-885-2444.


Weekly fitness programs include hall walking on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the Headingley Community Centre.


An urban poling class is scheduled on Tuesdays from May 7 to 28 at 10 to 11 a.m. on the Headingley-Grand Trunk Trail. The registration fee is $40. Call 204-885-2444 by May 1 to register.


Pickleball is played on Tuesdays from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Headingley Community Centre until June 25. There is a $2 drop-in fee.


Headingley Services for Seniors offers social programs including the 55+ Club every second and fourth Tuesday each month from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Headingley Community Centre. There is a $2 fee. A coffee chat is scheduled from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Thursdays.


A Wheels to Meals program is scheduled on April 30 from noon to 1:30 p.m. and participants will visit a local restaurant and pay for their own lunch. Call Patti Cutts at 204-889-3132 ext. 3 to reserve a spot.
