The RM of Headingley’s public works department is reading residential water meters over the next few weeks.
Department staffers need to gain access to residents’ properties, but not their homes. Meters are read from a pad mounted on the exterior of a home.
In some newer locations, the meters are read from the street using a wireless transmitter mounted on the meter. Over the next few years, the municipality hopes to install wireless meters in all local homes and businesses.
