Rosser area business wins award
C.M. Agra Ltd., a grain and seed business in the RM of Rosser, won top honours in the provincial Good Roads Association’s annual beautification competition.
The business, operated by Bruce Stewart and sons Craig, Chris and Jeff, was selected as the best farm home grounds winner for 2012.
"We’ve always kept the yard tidy," said Bruce, adding some new buildings and trees were recently added.
Entries for the competition are submitted to the Manitoba Good Roads Association by urban and rural municipalities each May and June with judging taking place in July or August. Judging criteria includes categories such as general plan or layout of the yard, shelter belts and ornamentals, fruits and vegetables, decorative planting and lawn care.
The association is a non-profit organization started in 1909 to promote the establishment of Manitoba’s road network.
