RM of Rosser council is checking with the provincial government to see what speeds can be set for two school zones in Rosser and Grosse Isle.
Reeve Frances Smee said council discussed the issue at its Oct. 8 meeting, following the province’s decision to allow municipalities to set lower speeds within their school zones.
Rosser Elementary School is situated on PTH 221, and the posted speed is now 50
kilometres per hour. Smee said council would like to see if it can further reduce the speed limit for that zone.
Grosse Isle School is adjacent to PTH 321, so the same situation may apply.
