If you’re a parent with young children or are planning on starting a family soon, this survey’s for you.
Members of La Salle KIDZ Inc., a non-profit volunteer group formed about four years ago to work on getting a government-licensed daycare in the community, are mailing a survey to local residents.
KIDZ Inc. president Jennifer Penner said it’s important for people to complete the survey so she and the other eight board members can use the information for grant applications.
To this point, the group has raised money through events such as the annual La Salle charity golf tournament, where it partners with the community centre and nursery school, and at a recent ladies-only social.
"The community is growing, and having a licensed daycare would benefit us," Penner said.
Since she first helped form the group, Penner’s children have grown and will be too old to attend the regular daycare program, but they could still possibly use a centre in La Salle for before- and after-school care.
La Salle residents should receive a survey before the end of the month, and completed surveys can be dropped off at boxes in the Co-op, Jeni’s Food & Hardware and Race Trac.
Penner added that the group is looking for more board volunteers.
