Birds Hill Provincial Park is inviting people to become "bear smart."
The park will host a Spring Bear Smart Campfire and Bannock Bake Program on March 24 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. The event will include an interactive presentation about black bear behavior, habitat needs, and diet in the springtime, as well as what residents can do to keep their homes, cottages, and campsites protected from bears.
Afterward, attendees will be invited to bake bannock.
There is no charge to attend the event, though a park vehicle permit is required for admission.
