A local organization is making it easier to donate.

East Kildonan-based Chili from the Heart, which will begin its winter meeting schedule of cooking chili for Winnipeg’s homeless every second Saturday on Nov. 2, now has five donation drop-off locations.

The organization does not accept cash but it welcomes donations of chili ingredients and gift cards to local grocery stores. It also accepts warm clothing for the less fortunate.

The organization posts all donations to its Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/ChiliFromTheHeart.

In addition to its East Kildonan home base, the group now has sites in St. Boniface, St. Vital, Richmond West, and Wolseley. To obtain the addresses of the sites, contact the group through the Facebook page.

Since its launch last December, the group has served over 13,000 bowls of chili. This winter, it will serve 500 bowls every second Saturday at the Main Street Project.
