Crime awareness group holding AGM

The Citizens for Crime Awareness District 4 group is set to look both backward and forward.

The North Kildonan-based organization will holds its annual general meeting and appreciation dinner at Valley Gardens Community Centre (218 Antrim Rd.) on Sept. 12 at 6:30 p.m. Pizza and refreshments will be served.

Organizer Wendy Koenig said the AGM is open to the public, and the organization has open positions on its board. As well, it is looking for volunteers. Those who are interested in volunteering but cannot make it to the meeting can email cfcadis4@mymts.net or call the office at 204-338-5175.

The group, which promotes community policing, makes joint presentations with local police on a variety of topics from Internet safety and identity theft to drug and gang awareness.
