It’s a safari unlike any other.
Birds Hill Provincial Park is hosting its fourth annual Winter Safari on Sun., Feb. 23. The event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. that afternoon.
Attendees can learn all about local wildlife, as they can go on guided walks to learn about winter survival techniques, partake in snowshoeing, bannock baking, a scavenger hunt, and a campfire.
There will also be crafts and a theatrical performance about animals that live under the snow. As well, the Snow Motion Winter Dog Sports Club will hold skijoring and kick-sledding demonstrations.
Children will have the chance to meet Smokey Bear, and will even receive a goodie bag to take home.
As it is primarily an outdoor event, those coming out are encouraged to dress warmly.
All events are free to attend, and entry fees are waived for all of Manitoba’s provincial parks for the duration of February.
