Good Neighbours accredited by Imagine Canada

  • Print

Good Neighbours Active Living Centre received some recognition for its well-run organization.

The centre, located at 720 Henderson Hwy., was awarded accreditation status by Imagine Canada, a national charitable organization that seeks to ensure charities and non-profits are ethical and well-governed, among other criteria.

Good Neighbours met all of Imagine Canada’s 73 standards, according to a release from the centre on June 3.

"By meeting the program standards, we are demonstrating that Good Neighbours operates ethically, transparently and has good processes in place," executive director Susan Sader explained in an email. "In short, being accredited means Good Neighbours is an organization that is trustworthy. Our hope is that achieving accreditation instills confidence in our work in the community and helps us in the future with current and potential funders."

The centre provides a wide variety of programming and support to those aged 55 and older.
