Winnipeg police recently made a drug bust in Transcona and a suspect is now facing charges.
After a drug investigation, members of the East District Crime unit obtained a Controlled Drug and Substances Act search warrant for a residence in the 200 block of Day Street. The warrant was executed on Nov. 21 with assistance from Uniform and Tactical Support Team members.
As a result, a 23-year-old male is facing charges including possessing a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking — cocaine, and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime for his alleged involvement. At the residence, cocaine with an estimated street value of $21,280, drug paraphernalia, and $285 in Canadian currency was seized.
The male was released on a promise to appear.
