Kristie Maslow, a proud River East hockey mom, sent in this photo, accompanied by the following wonderful note:

"I just wanted to submit a wonderful story of true teamwork by the Royals 9A1 White and Black hockey teams. The two teams were scheduled to face off on Dec. 21, 2013, and coaches Pete Unrau and Brett Birch decided to use this opportunity to make the lives of less fortunate girls and boys a little better this Christmas.

"All boys from the two teams were encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy to donate to the Christmas Cheer Board on behalf of the Royals 9A1 hockey organization. As you can see, they did a great job! We are very proud of our teams!"

Well done to all concerned... and Merry Christmas!
