There may still be snow on the ground, but the City of Winnipeg is looking ahead to when there won’t be.
In a release on April 11, the city released information regarding where Winnipeg residents can pick up sandbags to prevent overland flooding.
The pickup stations will be open Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. and will be located at 1220 Pacific Ave., 960 Thomas Ave. and 1539 Waverley St. Those picking up sandbags must provide photo identification to confirm Winnipeg residency.
Those who require sandbags outside of these hours can contact the city’s 311 service at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 311.
