Santa comes to Elmwood on Dec. 19

  • Print

Together in Elmwood (TIE) had to pull a few strings, but Santa Claus himself will be touching down at the Elmwood-East Kildonan Active Living Centre on Dec. 19.

The event, which is offered free of charge, will take place from 9 a.m. until noon at the centre, located at 180 Poplar Ave. A pancake breakfast will be provided and children will have the opportunity to get a photo taken with the big man snapped by Angela LeClair Porter.

The organization will be accepting donations of canned food to create a hamper for a local family.

TIE is also encouraging local parents of young children to stay active even in the winter months.
Strollin’ with the TYKES started on Dec. 4, and will be offered on Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m. at Chalmers Community Centre (480 Chalmers Ave.).

The program allows parents and caregivers of kids aged zero to six to get some indoor activity.

Participants are encouraged to bring a comfortable pair of walking shoes, and mall strollers will be provided.
