St. Stephen’s to host carnival, sale
St. Stephen’s Anglican Church is continuing its centennial celebration with a community carnival.
The church, located at 220 Helmsdale Ave., will host a carnival and giant basement sale on June 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Tracy Peacock, the church’s events chair, said those looking to get involved in the sale at $15 a table can contact the church directly at 204-661-2432. She added buyers will likely find something of value to take home.
"We rent a certain number of tables, and the church also has tables because people have donated things (to sell)," she said. "There can be a wide range from books to furniture to almost anything... The whole basement is usually packed with stuff."
The carnival, meanwhile, will have a bouncy gym, dunk tank, and barbecue, among other activities. Peacock said the bouncy gym and kids’ games will be free of charge, but there will be a charge for the dunk tank and for the food.
