The Spirit’s Call Choir is helping to make a mark with Status4.

The choir, which holds two benefit concerts a year and has raised over $160,000 for local organizations, is set to extend its reach to the Elmwood youth group.

The choir will perform at Elmwood High School (505 Chalmers Ave.) on Fri., May 10 at 7:30 p.m. alongside guest performers Gentil Mis and Status4 founder Kevin Gibson. As well, youth from Status4 will perform remixes of classic songs such as Imagine and We Are the World.

Tickets for the show are $16 for adults and $5 for those aged five to 17.

Status4 is based out of the East End Cultural and Leisure Centre at 575 Larsen Ave. and hosts free music, dance, and tae kwon do programming for neighbourhood children. For more information, visit www.status4.ca

"I’ve gained skills I’ll never lose like music lessons, tae kwon do lessons and dance lessons and way more.  The instructors are good teachers to everyone and they treat us all the same. They are great," said a participant identified as M.H. in a release.
