Suspects in Elmwood robbery arrested

Winnipeg police quickly apprehended four suspects in an Elmwood robbery.

According to a release, police were dispatched to the area of Henderson Highway and Johnson Avenue West around 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 3 after receiving a report of a male having been robbed. The man was not injured.

Officers contained the area, and the canine unit located four suspects, who were arrested for their alleged involvement. The stolen property was also recovered.

Officers learned the victim was walking in the area and was approached by the four suspects, one of whom produced a weapon, demanded and received personal property from the victim. A bystander witnessed the incident and called police.

Eighteen-year-old Evan Levi Michael Young and 20-year-old Michael Curtis Thomas were charged with robbery with a weapon and were detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.

Two 17-year-old males are facing charges of robbery with a weapon and were released on promises to appear.
