Let your kids explore learning this spring

  • Print

Registration for the free early learning programs offered this spring by the River East Transcona School Division opens on the evening of Wednesday, March 20 according to the RETSD’s Kinderlinks newsletter.

Made available through the work of Healthy Child Manitoba, the Early Childhood Matters Parent Child Coalition in River East and Transcona and RETSD, the Kinderlinks is a beacon of opportunity for parents.

Kinderlinks recommends that you "delight and stimulate your little one" with Baby Bumblebees’; or ‘help your children feel happier and more confident" with Itsy Bitsy Yoga; you can "create a homemade book, puppet or rhyme activity" in Once upon a Rhyme.

All Aboard the Friend Ship, designed for children aged four to five incorporates the thrill of sailing with the basics for building relationships.

There are two Night Owls groups, both for newborns to children aged five, but each offer different atmospheres. The Wayoata School Night Owls has a relaxing evening program that focuses on spending quality time together. Participants will enjoy reading, singing, creating art and "munching on a healthy snack". The Sherwood School Night Owls program is designed for active play and will take place in the school gym.

Caregivers and their children have endured an especially long winter this year, attempting to navigate the logistics of socializing with other families.

Now that it’s spring, the trials of dressing and transporting toddlers shifts focus from staying warm to staying dry.

Whatever the weather, conquering the conundrums of escaping home are always well rewarded when attending of one of the plethora of programs available for young people.

Kinderlinks has much more to offer children and their families. Learning events, seminars and in-motion sessions with educational themes are dispersed throughout the division and offered mornings, afternoons and evening.

Registration begins Wednesday, March 20 at 7 p.m. by phone at 204-669-4043 or email preschool@retsd.mb.ca
