If you want to know how it feels to be in the pilot seat, you should go to St. Vital Centre this weekend.
That’s because the 199 St. Vital Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron will be hosting a recruiting weekend for youth aged between 12 and 18 who are potentially interested in joining the cadet program.
Cadets will on hand on Saturday and Sunday at the centre (in the community booth located near the Sears and London Drugs entrances) to answer questions and visitors will get the chance to try the Dreamflyer™ Simulator.
Through a variety of interactive instruction and events, cadets develop knowledge and skills aimed to foster good citizenship and leadership, promote physical fitness and stimulate an interest in the air element of the Canadian Forces, organizers say.
The group parades out of the Louis Riel Arts and Technology Centre on Thursday nights throughout the school year and also offers optional activities throughout the week.
