  • Print

There’s a sweet deal at two southeast Winnipeg restaurants for chocolate lovers this month.

In Ferno’s Bistro (312 Des Meurons St.) and Maxime’s Restaurant and Lounge (1131 St Mary’s Rd.) are among 33 restaurants and bakeries across the city taking part in Ciao! Magazine’s eighth annual ChocolateFest throughout April.

"Each year, chocophiles look forward to see how chefs and bakers are getting creative with the world’s favourite ingredient and ChocolateFest is a great way to indulge," said Ciao! publisher Laurie Hughes in a news release.

During the month-long celebration, some of the city’s top culinary talent is offering up "sweet, savoury and sippable chocolate creations" for $7 each, according to organizers.

Festival partner Mordens’ of Winnipeg is also giving out a free miniature chocolate bison with each ChocolateFest purchase, while stocks last.
