Construction has started on Murray Field at Dakota Collegiate after ground was broken at the St. Vital-based school on July 5. Louis Riel School Division has announced the goal is to complete the first phase of the project, including an artificial turf field designed for mixed educational and community use, at the end of September. The $1.8-million project is the result of a combination of public and private sponsorship. On June 21, it was announced that on behalf of the Murray Auto Group and his family, Dan Murray had pledged $250,000 to the project.
