Event will be musical tribute to veterans

An upcoming luncheon will pay a musical tribute to Canada’s veterans in light of Remembrance Day.

The Women’s Canadian Club of Winnipeg is inviting community members to the luncheon that will be held on Tues., Nov. 12 at 11 a.m. at RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg.

Special guests at the event will be the Command Brass from the Royal Canadian Air Force Band. The group will play music associated with Remembrance Day and lunch will be served at noon.

After lunch, there will be a special presentation by Maj. Heather Collins from 17 Wing, who will be speaking on topics related to veterans and Remembrance Day, with an emphasis on keeping the occasion relevant to today’s youth, organizers say.

Reservations for the event (or subsequent cancellations) can be made from Mon., Nov. 4 by calling 204-663-5657 between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. or email wccwinnipeg@gmail.com during the same time frame. Tickets are $22 for members (reserved), $24 for members (unreserved) and $25 for non-members.
