Library to hold eBook support sessions

  • Print

St. Vital Library will hold two sessions to help literature lovers transition into the digital age.

The sessions will focus on accessing and navigating thousands of free eBooks available to download from the library, located at 6 Fermor Ave. The first session will be held on Wed., May 22 at 1:30 p.m. and the second session will run at 3 p.m. the same day.

Participants will learn to use their electronic devices to connect with the library’s eLM and Freading services to get eBooks, and the sessions will run through the basics of how to set up devices for library eBooks, how to find library eBooks and how to download them, organizers say.

The first session will focus on elink eReaders, including those with Wi-Fi capabilities, such as Kobo Touch and Kobo Glo eReaders, while the second session will look at iPads, smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices that can install apps, including the Kobo Arc.

Organizers suggest participants familiarize themselves with their devices prior to the sessions. Call 204-986-5628 to register.
