The U-21 Winnipeg Lightning took home silver medals in the U-21 Women’s Western Fast Pitch Championships, held in Leduc, Alta. from July 24 to 28. The team finished second in the round robin, registering five wins and one defeat. In the playoffs, they advanced to the final after an 8-0 victory over the North Vancouver Blue Jays. The Lightning eventually lost to the Calgary Kodiaks 6-3 in seven innings in the final.
