Nelson Mac musical to focus on spelling

  • Print

There will soon be even more emphasis on spelling at Nelson McIntyre Collegiate.

Following a successful run as the gang from Peanuts, the school’s drama department will present this year’s musical — The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee — on Wed., April 17 and Thurs., April 18 at Le Cercle Molière, located 340 Provencher Blvd. Showtimes are 7 p.m. nightly.

The story follows six eclectic young spellers, and three equally eccentric adults, who face the stresses and demands of parents, peers and growing up — all set in the high-pressure world of competitive spelling, organizers say.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students aged 17 and under. For more information regarding tickets, call Maggie McMillan at the school at 204-237-0219.
