Danielle Krzyszczyk, 16, a St. Mary’s Academy Student and St. Vital resident, represented her country on Hockey Canada’s U18 Team Canada roster against the United States in a Lake Placid, N.Y.-based series from Aug. 22 to 25. "It was a phenomenal experience," said Krzyszczyk.
"Something I will never forget. I was able to make tons of friends from across the country. I learned a lot of new things about hockey, as well as life skills that I will take with me through every new experience."
Team Canada and USA played three games. Canada won the first two 4-1 and 3-2, and Team USA won the third 3-2. Krzyszczyk now hopes to make the team again for the 2014 International Ice Hockey Federation U18 Women’s World Championship in April.
