Spots open for Mustangs golf fundraiser

  • Print

Members of a local football club are hoping to swing some support for an upcoming golf fundraiser.

The St. Vital Mustangs Football Club’s 8th Alumni Classic Golf Tournament will be held on Thurs., June 13 at Kingswood Golf and Country Club, located in La Salle, Man.
Organizers say the event will be an opportunity to meet some of the club’s coaches and players and their families. All proceeds from the tournament will go to the club’s football program.

Registration will open at 11 a.m. and the golf is set to begin with a shotgun start at noon. The format will be a four-person best shot scramble. Both single players and teams are welcome. If you wish to develop your own foursome, note the names of the other players on your registration. If you don’t have a team, organizers will put one together for you.

There will also be contests for the longest drive (men’s and ladies), closest to the pin (men’s and ladies), putting and chipping. To round things off at 6 p.m., there will be a steak dinner, prize draws and award presentations.

The entry fee per participant is $150, which entitles each player to 18 holes of golf, a power cart and the dinner. Organizers would also welcome donated items for tournament prizes. All donors will be acknowledged at the dinner. For more details, email Dawn at vp.fundraising@mustangsfootball.ca

Space for the event is limited, so payment must accompany entry to reserve your spot. Entry deadline is Thurs., May 30. For more information, go online at:
