Thursday nights are a jig at Riel House

  • Print

Individuals with an appetite for Métis culture should jig on down to Riel House this summer.

The Louis Riel Institute and the Manitoba Métis Federation are presenting Thursday Night Soirées at Riel House every Thursday night from 6 to 9 p.m. until Aug. 29. The national historic site is located at 330 River Rd. in St. Vital.

Organizers say visitors will have the chance to step back in time and enjoy music, jigging and songs. Individuals are invited to bring their guitars, fiddles and spoons to join in the musical merriment — or just sit back and enjoy the sounds.

There will also be children’s crafts and activities.

For more information, call the institute at 204-984-9480.
