With temperatures heating up outside, the City of Winnipeg has announced the summer schedules for its outdoor pools, wading pools and spray pads.
Outdoor pools will open on June 28 and operate seven days a week, weather permitting, until Sept. 2, officials say. Outdoor pools in southeast Winnipeg include Happyland (520 Marion St.), Norwood (87 Walmer St.), Provencher (590 Langevin St.), St. Vital (5 Des Meurons St.) and Windsor Park (333 Speers Rd.).
Some wading pools will open on July 1, in time for Canada Day, while the remaining pools will open on July 2. Operating hours will vary, but most wading pools will be open from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Dakota Park (1188 Dakota St.) and JH Bruns Park (254 Lakewood Blvd.) are set to open July 1.
The spray pad at Provencher Park (620 Langevin St.) is already open and set to run until Sept. 2. It is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Individuals are advised to check winnipeg.ca or call 311 throughout the summer for more information, including weather-related closures of any of these facilities.
