Police have arrested and charged a Winnipeg woman with the homicide of a man in St. Vital.
As previously reported, on Jan. 3 around 4:30 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a suite in the 200 block of Fernwood Avenue regarding a sudden death incident.
Officials say Keith George McFee, 69, was found dead in the suite. The investigation revealed the victim had upper body injuries.
Members of the Homicide Unit continued the investigation with the assistance of Patrol members, Forensic Identification and Street Crime Unit members and it was determined that between Dec. 26 and 27, McFee and a 31-year-old female were drinking alcohol in his suite when they became involved in an argument that resulted in the female producing a weapon and fatally assaulting McFee.
The female fled the suite in the victim’s vehicle and later abandoned it in the area of Logan Avenue and Laura Street, officials say.
On Jan. 6, Leanne May Henderson, 31, was arrested on William Avenue for her alleged involvement. She was charged with 2nd degree murder and theft over $5,000.
She was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
