The current councillor for St. James-Brooklands-Weston is considering running for Mayor. He should explain his City Hall record.
During the entire construction of the new Station 11 Fire Hall, he was heavily involved. Why did he insist on tearing up a park on a cloverleaf to build the fire hall? The
Charleswood station was rebuilt on the existing site. Why did we not rebuild on the Berry Street site? During the decision-making process, did the city actually own the Berry Street site land?
Also, he should explain the $1-million construction cost overrun on the Sturgeon Heights Community Club, the failure to convince the Public Works Committee to adopt safety changes at Ness and Mount Royal, the inability to enforce a City Cleanup Order at 2093 Portage Ave., and the mysterious addition of a Logan Avenue barricade which adversely affected businesses in a strip mall.
