The Roblin Park Community Centre board is putting the call out for people to attend their annual general meeting on Thursday, April 18 at 8 p.m. lest they risk a loss of funding.
"The City of Winnipeg requires a minimum of 20 community members to attend to secure building operating funding for the next year," reads an invite to the AGM, which cites a $20,000 spring grant being in play.
The centre’s website (www.roblinpark.mb.ca) reports there is also a "critical need" to fill vacant board positions, and that the nominations for, and the election of, all board positions will take place at the AGM.
The invitation asks people to "please consider your rewards in volunteering for a board position and the difference you will make in the children’s lives in the Roblin Park community."
The invitation says after the AGM, being held at 640 Pepperloaf Cres., there will be a "wine and cheese social evening" for people to meet board members and neighbours and celebrate a successful year.
