The Red River Ex is offering seniors some special offerings on Wed., June 19 as part of their GO4health EXpo activities.

Called Senior’s Day, anyone 55 and older can enter the Ex for $5 and will get a free merry-go-round and giant ferris wheel ride.

The GO4health EXpo, which runs throughout the June 14 to 23 carnival inside the Exhibition Place facility, offers free games, activities and giveaways geared towards a healthy lifestyle.

Education on mental health, smoking cessation, cancer prevention, and sexual health are part of the event.

On Senior’s Day, June 19 from 3 to 11 p.m., The Ex website says seniors can "enjoy the many demo activities, entertainment, interactive displays and education booths to promote ‘Living Well at 55+.’"

Seniors also get a free coffee, and can "engage with numerous senior service organizations" that will be on hand.

Dozens of agencies partner to create the GO4health EXpo, but the Ex lists the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority as their main partner.

"It’s a great opportunity for people to learn more about healthy living," said WRHA spokeswoman Heidi Graham.

"It has happened for several years and has been extremely popular."
