Students at St. James Collegiate (1900 Portage Ave.) will now be conducting science experiments in the school’s two newly renovated science labs.
The province provided over $2.4 million for the renovation of two science classrooms, with the funds also being used to install a new elevator and complete overall upgrades to the building, according to a release.
The upgrades to the science labs are part of Manitoba’s $25-million Science Action Plan, which aims to make sure students have access to the best labs and equipment.
The two labs are now being used by students, and the elevator is expected to be operational by January 2014.
