Dying with Dignity Canada is presenting a seminar by ethicist Arthur Schafer Sept. 10 at Riverview Community Centre (90 Ashland Ave.).
Schafer, director of the centre for professional and applied ethics at the University of Manitoba, will give a public presentation on physician-assisted suicide called "The Great Canadian Euthanasia Debate: Where are we now?"
The talk will address the history of the right to die movement in Canada and provide insight into its issues and arguments.
The talk was organized soon after Winnipeg’s Susan Griffiths, who suffered from multiple system atrophy, famously travelled to Switzerland to be given medical aid in dying.
The talk will run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. For more information, visit dyingwithdignity.ca.
