Alexander Steen (centre), forward for the St. Louis Blues, along with other NHL players and alumni met with patients of the Specialized Services for Children and Youth (SSCY) July 10. They celebrated a $250,000 donation to the SSCY made by The Amadeus Steen Foundation. Currently, the SSCY’s services are delivered through 14 different agencies, and the new centre will provide centralized care. SSCY is constructing a new $22-million centre, scheduled to be completed in 2015, and will provide rehabilitation for children with special needs in Manitoba, eastern Saskatchewan, northwest Ontario, and Nunavut.
