The Rainbow Resource Centre hosted a rally at the Manitoba Legislature May 16 to celebrate International Day Against Homophobia. Over 300 people came to the event, some in costumes, others holding signs of support. Brent Young and Bob Burgess drew the attention of many photographers and cameramen as soon as they arrived. During the rally Chad Smith, director of the Rainbow Resource Centre, spoke to the crowd asking them to keep the message alive as homophobia, gay-bashing and discrimination are still present in Winnipeg.
