More than 100 Winnipeg women got an education in the CFL and the Blue Bombers Oct. 17 on the squad's home turf at Investors Group Field.
The Winnipeg Football Club’s highly popular Women’s Football Clinic took place on the Thursday evening, with proceeds from the event going to the Keeping Abreast Fund as part of breast cancer awareness month at the CFL.
Attendees took part in hands-on activities, such as on-fire drills and equipment demonstrations led by current Bombers players. Experts and rookies were also given the opportunity to learn the rules of the game and to attend a Q & A with the players.
All women who attended were given two tickets to the Oct. 19 home game against the Toronto Argonauts.
