Are you looking for a place to worship within Waverley West?
Currently there are four different options, sure to increase as the area d-evelops further. Perhaps the two most noticeable are the Waverley Church and the Winnipeg Grand Mosque, as both sit directly on Waverley Street.
Brad Quiring, lead pastor of Waverley Church, a baptist place of worship, described in an email some of the regular and upcoming events at that facility:
"Our regular services are at 10 a.m. every Sunday morning. We have the Kids Spot pre-school playtime Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The junior and senior high groups meet Thursdays at 7 p.m. ESL and English Conversation classes for university and college students are offered every Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
"Everyone is welcome to our different activities (including) Christmas Eve services on Dec. 24 — at 4 p.m. there’s a family and kids service (all welcome); at 7 p.m., a traditional candlelight service (all welcome)."

Osaed Khan, secretary of the Manitoba Islamic Association, said the mosque is "open for five daily prayers from 7 a.m. to 8:30 pm."
Other daily and monthly events include kid’s Islamic classes, badminton, women’s volleyball, men’s volleyball, community meetings, library hours, indoor soccer, basketball, and a fitness class as well as weddings, community potlucks, lecture nights and Eid Carnival/festival.
The Winnipeg Grand Mosque is located at 2445 Waverley St. and residents can visit the Manitoba Islamic website for additional information at www.miaonline.org
Two other worship options in Waverley West are Jehovah’s Witnesses Fort Garry and the Red River Chinese Congregations. Both are located at 60 Cadboro Rd., 204-269-9743.
