Rebecca Kuik should keep her passport handy after a stellar showing at the recent Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour’s MJT Manitoba Series at Teulon Golf and Country Club. Organizers say players in the event were vying for titles in seven divisions, as well as the chance to qualify for short-listed age-spots in the Jack Newton International Classic in New South Wales, Australia in the fall. Kuik, 18, who plays out of Niawka Country Club, won in the MJT Girls 15 to 18 category, shooting 84-79 to win over Brynne Paschinski, 15, of Brandon, Man., and secure a short-listed spot to Australia. Finalists will be announced once qualifying is completed across the country. "I played well and was able to scramble well," Kuik said in a news release.
