It’s time to take out the trash.
The William Whyte Residents Association (WWRA), along with the Dufferin Residents Association, holds its annual community cleanup event on Fri., May 23.
Community members, students from local schools and local businesses and organizations will clear garbage from over 100 blocks of the North End.
"Right after the thaw, you know what it looks like, and that’s got dealt with to some degree but now we’ve got to do the finishing touches," said WWRA program co-ordinator Annette Champion-Taylor.
"Generally after our cleanup, you really notice a difference. All we’re hoping for is really nice weather."
Registration for the event is from 8 to 10 a.m. at the North End Business Development Centre (607 Selkirk Ave.). Cleanup supplies will be provided. A barbecue lunch will be served at the Ukrainian Labour Temple (595 Pritchard Ave.) from noon to 1:30 p.m.
