The North Winnipeg Credit Union is celebrating Credit Union Day with the entire neighbourhood.
The credit union, located at 310 Leila Ave., is having a community barbecue on Thurs., Oct. 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
"Usually we have just coffee and donuts for our members, but this year we thought we’d get more involved in the community, so we’re having a barbecue," says Doris Dyck, manager of member services.
"We have a sponsor, Tenderloin Meats, who is providing us with all the meat products. We’re not raising money or selling anything. It’s a free community barbecue."
Credit Union Day, which is always the third Thursday in October, coincides with Co-op Week, which runs Oct. 13 to 19.
