It’s no nonsense at Barber House

Programming at seniors centre not all fun and games

Barber House Senior’s Centre is looking to expand the range of programs it provides.

In addition to a new seniors recycling program for the area late that was launched last month, the centre is hoping to begin offering a program for problem drinkers, according to volunteer Richard Stein.

"This is not A.A., but something else for those with specific binge problems," he said.

Rick Caslake, program manager of the Point Douglas centre, said it is looking to offer more than just traditional seniors’ program. One of the new initiatives is a used battery collection program.

"Not much is going to waste around here," he said.
